FAQ

What is an Ultraviolence RP Sim?

An ultraviolence RP sim is a roleplaying sim set in an environment where violence is ever present facet of your character's lives. Every day is a struggle for your character to survive. Between your fellow inmates, a hostile alien planet, and a declining metropolis you'll never know where the danger might come from. This does not mean this is a beat 'em up or first person shooter sim. This is a roleplaying sim and players are expected to roleplay.

Do I need to join one of the gangs in Triumvirate or can I start my own?

You can start your own prison gang/faction. The only rules in regards to that is in order to be listed on the Faction page and in the notecard you need at least 4 members and a notecard describing your faction. The Triumvirate is there to give players something to join if they don't want to start their own faction as well as flesh our the history of the sim.

Can I roleplay an alien in the sim?

Not yet though we are debating introducing them in the future.

What melee weapons are acceptable in Naraka? Can I bring my Katana?

While Katanas are discouraged they're not prohibited. The only rules in regards to melee weapons is they must look modern or futuristic. We don't want to see players running around with magic fantasy weapons, it simply does not fit the theme.

I know guns are restricted but can I use a bow or crossbow?

Crossbows and bows fall under the same rule as melee weapons. You can use them but they need to look modern, fabricated, or futuristic. Don't come to the sim weilding a fantasy bow as it just distracts from the theme of the sim. They should appear homemade. NO Chinese repeating laserbeam crossbows, please.

Can I RP a law enforcement officer or a vigilante?

Of course but be prepared to accept the consequences if the inmates in the prison find out. >:)

Can I RP a dog?

There are no dogs on Naraka.

Can I RP a Furry?

There are no Furries on Naraka.

If my character is killed in meter combat does that mean I need to make a new character?

No. If you're defeated in meter or RP combat you're simply beat unconscious for a little while. Death is by consent only. It is in good RP etiquette to RP wounded for a while though before you go out to seek revenge.

Is it possible for my character to sneak his family's AK-47 onto Naraka?

I'm afraid not. Firearms are restricted to the ones we make for the sim. Besides this sim is set many years into the future and AK-47's would only be found in a museum if that.

Do I have to meter combat or can I just RP combat?

Wearing the DCS meter is consenting to meter combat. If you're not interested in going that route then don't wear the meter. If you and another character get into an altercation but can't agree on how to fight then find some other solution and keep OOC drama to a minimum please.
